Kathryn Merei is a natural connector. Relationships are incredibly important to her and she treats each client's business as if it were her own. With 12 years' experience as the former Marketing Director of Toronto's prestigious Elmwood Spa and restaurant affiliate Bangkok Garden, Kathryn's specialty areas include wellness, fitness, hospitality and lifestyle. As the marketing lead for the largest standalone day spa in Canada, Kathryn was responsible for brand strategy, project management and introduced an omni-channel digital marketing approach. She reported to the Spa's board on a quarterly basis for three lines of business and represented several departments including marketing, sales, operations and recruitment. Kathryn developed the annual marketing and strategic business plans and took the lead on many improvement initiatives that were well outside the marketing scope. Her philosophy is that there are always areas to enhance in business, and it is her passion to help owners continually build on the customer experience.
Kathryn has a diploma in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Seneca and prior to joining Elmwood, she worked at PlayStation and for a marketing agency on the Starwood Hotels & Resorts account (acquired by Marriott). She continues to lend her skills and knowledge to help young people at-risk having recently completed a sabbatical in Colombia working with a grassroots organization that helps underprivileged children. Upon returning to Toronto, Kathryn has continued to work with non-profits such as Sketch which supports marginalized youth, and joined the Board of Youth Rising Above, a non-profit which focuses on transforming the lives of marginalized teens through dynamic, engaging and interactive programming opportunities that build resiliency, skill and personal well-being.
